Erika Dapkewicz
Erika Dapkewicz is an ACE accredited film editor and member of the Motion Picture Academy with extensive experience in the animation industry. After joining Walt Disney Feature Animation’s California studio in the mid-1990s, Erika moved to the Florida Studio to participate in the editorial production of Mulan (1998), and subsequently served as an associate editor on Lilo & Stitch (2002). During her time in Florida, Erika joined the production of The Flower, and has remained a part of the project ever since.
After the closure of the Florida Studio in 2004, Erika returned to California, beginning a 13-year career at DreamWorks Animation. While at DreamWorks, she served as the editor of Flushed Away (2006), Monsters vs. Aliens (2009), and Puss in Boots (2011), the latter of which resulted in nominations for an ACE Eddie Award and an ASIFA Hollywood Annie Award. Erika also served as an additional editor for The Croods (2013), and edited the Trolls Holiday TV special (2017).
Following her time at DreamWorks, Erika moved to Sony Pictures Animation to serve as the editor of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s animated musical Vivo (2021). Most recently, she has returned to Disney where she is working on an animated film project currently in development.
In addition to her editing work, Erika is also the co-founder, lyricist, and vocalist of the band Imaginarius, which has released nine albums since forming in 2004. Erika also runs the popular YouTube vlog Miss Mako (with over 140,000 subscribers), and has written and directed several independent films under her production banner Mako Pictures.
